Nalini Nadkarni was one of the first people to ever study the canopy—the part of the trees above the forest floor, all the way up to the top. Her discoveries have helped shape our understanding of the forests. In fact, Nadkarni loves trees so much, that she actually pitched a TreeTop Barbie to Mattel to try and inspire a new generation of young, female canopy scientists.
