Powder Play: Finding Work-Life Balance on the Slopes of Utah

Free-ski maven Dash Longe examines how his Salt Lake City home and the nearby Wasatch Mountains continue to fuel his soulful inventiveness on snow—and beyond.

Well-known for his smooth style, big airs and effortless on-snow creativity, he’s long pushed the boundaries of the sport. In “Stone’s Throw,” a short film by Sweetgrass Productions, viewers can see Longe in action thanks to an unbelievable series of “hold-your-breath-until-he-lands-it” jumps and other incredible maneuvers on the often-unforgiving slopes of Utah.

With the project, Longe wanted to create a film we can all relate to. “This one is for the passionate skier in cities around the world who lives for the fact that they can get up early and go rip a sick line before work,” he said in an interview. “Whether it’s Salt Lake, Denver, Seattle or anywhere urban that’s got mountains in the backyard, this one’s for you.”
